Cutting methods explained to crowd.
Andy has taught regular classes over the years in Hawaii at Woodcraft of Honolulu and the Honolulu Museum of Art School at Spalding House. He has also been a regular instructor at the prestigious Marc Adams School of Woodworking in Franklin, Indiana.
Many clubs and organizations have scheduled Andy to do week long and weekend classes in conjunction with local symposia around the country. He has thoroughly enjoyed working with turners in every region including a recent and memorable trip to Anchorage, Alaska.
Demonstrating for an audience is something that always gets Andy animated and enthused. He finds great satisfaction in educating with an infectious level of enthusiasm while shaping a piece of wood from behind a lathe. He has been a frequent demonstrator with the AAW as well as many regional symposia all around the continent. He even had the privilege of being invited to Australia a few years ago.
Andy has taken a brief sabbatical from classes locally, but hopes to get them going again in the near future. Stay tuned!
